New Year's Eve

Well, it's New Year's Eve. The day starts off, I'm trying to sleep in and the kids are yelling and crying for breakfast. Like they can't wait 5 minutes. Sheesh! It's only 9:00! hahaha! So, I get up and make them some frozen pancakes and milk. A little later I'm on Dallas Area Moms and bouncing between that and Eastside Mom's and checking in here to see if any new comments have been made. I know...get a life. hehe! So, then I got bored and decided to take a bath and just as I was about to get out the kids come running and say that someone is at the door. Well crap! I have to find my robe and I have my hair wrapped up in a towel. Lovely. I go to the door and it's the person that I made a meal for because she just had a baby, returning the dish I left at her house a while back. She looked at me and said sorry I came at a bad time and I said no, I shouldn't have been taking a bath in the middle of the afternoon. We said our thank you's and she left. I go to put the stuff up and she had put a thank you note inside with some homemade gourmet stuff. A cider mix and an ambrosia muffin mix. Yum! The hubby came home early from work and we played Jr. scrabble with the kids. It was fun. We made oven fry pork chops, potatoes au-gratin, and corn for dinner and a little later I made the muffins. Really good. They kind of had an orangey flavor to them. The kids are in bed now and the hubby and I are going to watch "The Prestige" from blockbuster in a little while, kiss and say "Happy New Year!" and go to bed. Happy 2008 Everyone!!

McDonalds Playdate

I met a friend up at McDonalds today. We had fun. Just talked and watched the kids play. I told them not to take their socks off and they did it anyway. Gross! They said they couldn't climb up with socks because they are slippery. Whatever! I think this is going to be the longest two weeks because the kids are out of school and i'm already going crazy. It's like they have to be entertained every minute. Help!! If I'm going to have to go crazy, I want someone to do it with. Anyone?? What cha wanna do?

Nicholas' Doctor Visit

I took Nicholas to the doctor today. His teachers at MDO said that he has been crying when he's in line waiting to go to lunch and saying that his legs feel wiggly. (I guess that means shakey) and he has to go lay down because he doesn't feel well. They have P.E. before lunch. This has happened 3 or 4 times so, I decided it was time to go and see what this is about. The doctor said it could be hypoglycemia (low blood sugar) and recommended he have some blood drawn. When Nicholas gets in the chair he says "Is that a needle?" and his eyes get big and starts crying but, he sat there and let them do it and the crying didn't last long. He did good. Now we just need to wait for the results. Diabetes runs in the family especially for the boys so I hope everything comes back okay. I will keep ya updated.

UPDATE: The blood tests came back and everything looks good!

The Boys' MDO Christmas Program

Friday night was Nicholas and Jake's Christmas program at MDO. Jake's was at 6:00 and Nicholas' was at 7:00. Jake was nervous at first and putting his fingers in his mouth but, once it started he sang and was doing the motions and he was on the left side of the stage and we were sitting on the left. He was really getting into "Jingle Bells". He's been practicing that one at home over and over and over. hehe! We didn't know where Nicholas was going to be on stage but, he was smack dab in the middle and all we saw was the side of his head and every time he was finished with a song he would turn to us and wave. It was funny. haha! Oh! The five year olds were the best with their version of "The Twelve Days Of Christmas". hehe! The lord was really leaping, the ladies (lady) was really dancing and the maid was really milking. She had a latext glove blown up and was pulling the fingers. You had to be there. It was hilarious. I took lots of pictures but, none of them turned out. Wah!

Sneak Peek

I took the kids to Harry Myers park in Rockwall and took some pictures for everyone's Christmas Cards. Here's a sneak peak. I think they turned out pretty cute!

Cuddle Buddies

Nicholas likes to snuggle with Hayley. They are really close. Jake's a loner. hehe!

Ear Infection & Tube

I had to pick Hayley up early from school on Monday because the teacher said she had her head down on her desk most of the day. So I took her to the doctor and she has a double ear infection and she has to have a tube put in her right ear because she has had more than 4 infections in a year. So I made an appoinment with Dr. Robert Wyatt (Garland Rd./George Bush) for Monday to have the tube put in and I think they said they will use gas to knock her out. Oh boy!

UPDATE: Hayley had to have tubes put in both ears. Dh took her in at 6:30 for surgery. They made her drink some stuff to make her sleepy and then they gave her some gas and then when she was asleep they put and IV in. She woke up in recovery with the IV still in and she cried a little and then she got to come home. She just slept and was in and out all day. She finally pepped up and watch the "Bratz Movie". We love it by the way. She ate some ice cream because her throat hurt a little and then it was time for ear drops and tylenol and off to bed.

A Holiday Fun Filled Week/end

Friday the boys and I went to a holiday cookie exchange at my friend Jamie's house and it was lots of fun. I made popcorn jumbles (white almond bark & m&m's). I picked up another friend, Beth and we headed over to the playdate. When we got there the boys went directly upstairs to play and the adults sat around and talked and ate and then we got our cookies and headed home. I sampled everything and let me tell you, it was all yummers. This was with the Dallas Area Moms Group.

Later that night was my first time to play bunco and it was a blast! Don't ask me to keep score though. hehe! I won $30 bucks! Whoo Hoo! I think this is going to become a regular thing. Oh no! Another night out. I don't know... It was at Kristy's house from my Eastside Moms Group.

Saturday we went as a family to a party that dh's friend David and his wife Joedi were hosting. It was fun too! One of their friends was being bartender and making everyone drinks. I had a Cosmopolitan. (girly drink) hehe! That's what he said. We played a really fun game called CLR. (Center, Left, Right). You get 3 dice. On each dice there is a C, L, R. Everyone starts with 3 dollars (3 of any denomination of money.) I can't explain it well but, you can get the game at Spencers at the Mall and I think I'm going to, maybe for Christmas! Wee! This would be fun for a MNI!

Sunday I just hung out with my BFF (Karen) and watched a movie and chilled. It was nice. We can just hang out not even have to talk. That's how comfortable we are around each other. I love it. Hayley had a soccer game after church so the hubby took her and the boys to the game and it was just me and Madison over at Karen's. I should have thought and let Nicholas go with me so his friend Brandon would have someone to play with. That's me though, never thinking of something until it's too late.

Elmo TMX Special Edition

I went to Kohl's to look around today and Jake has been asking for everything Elmo. I found an Elmo TMX Special Edition and it was 40 percent off, which made it $35 and something cents and I had a $20.00 voucher because we bought everyone new coats and they have the buy $50.00 worth of merchandise and get $10.00 back sale going on right now. We spent $100.00 that day so we got 2. Anyway, with the coupon, I only ended up having to pay $17 and something cents! What a deal!

Our Christmas Tree

Our Christmas tree is up! We decorated it Sunday night, had hot chocolate and watched "A Christmas Story" with the kids. You can see the tree on the right. Jake will not leave it alone. He just has to touch it. It's driving me crazy and stressing me out! Ug. I might get a few more decorations today for it seeing that Jake has torn a few up when I wasn't looking. hahaha! The hubby was off work yesterday and we went looking around for a while just to compare prices. We had to cut it short because I started to feel shakey. I did eat breakfast but, it was pancakes with syrup and I think the syrup is what did me in. I had gestational diabetes when I was pregnant and I'm thinking I might have the real deal now. I just haven't been to the doctor. Anyway....It was a fun weekend and I'm glad I got to spend some more time with the hubby before he had to go back to work.

Thanksgiving & Anniversary

We had Thanksgiving over here yesterday and everything was wonderful. We sat around and watched the Cowboys. Go Cowboys! Then we played some Wii. The kids played for a while but they mostly ran around. The boys played ball with the daddy's and the girls hung out in the bedroom listening to cd's and dancing. hehe! A little later we drew names for Christmas. Howard drew our sister-in-law "Suzanne" his brother's wife, and I drew my sister-in-law "Karla". Howard's sister. I have no clue what to get them. Ideas please......and that was about it for the night.

Today was our Anniversary. We didn't do anything special, just Chic-fi-la for lunch with the kids because they begged us. We went out last week to eat at "Taste Of Italy" in Garland and then shot over to AMC Firewheel to see "Fred Claus". It was pretty funny. I guess I'd recommend it.

Roller Skating And Chuck E. Cheese

Saturday we had two birthday parties to go to. One was for my neice Alexis. She is 11. The party was a 12:00. The theme for her party was Hannah Montana and the cake was made by a friend of my grandmother's and it was quite yummy and cute. We went to Texas Skatium in Rowlett and the kids have never been roller skating before. Hayley had fun but, she fell a few times and Madison, Nicholas, and Jake weren't all that into it. They wanted their shoes back on pretty quick after they put their skates on and that was just fine with me because I didn't want to follow them around and hold them up the whole time. I took some pictures of the boys but they turned out blurry. Boo Hoo...Just a warning: Don't get the pizza there. It was pretty nasty. Yuck! The next party we went to was at Chuck E. Cheese at 6:00 for my friend Courtney's boys A.J. and Tyler. It was fun. We had to eat pizza again but, at least it was good pizza. He had a shark themed party and the cake turned out really cute. Courtney and her mom made it. They waited to open presents at home because there were so many, it was like Christmas. Here are a few pix...

Surprise 40th Birthday Party

My friends surprised me with a 40th birthday party Saturday night. Karen (My BFF) picked me up to go out to Olive Garden and Jenna (BF #2) met us there, so it was just the three of us. When we were nearly done with dinner, Karen's hubby called and I heard her say that we were almost done and she made up the excuse to me that she had to go to her house and say goodnight to her son Brandon because he was upset that she left. I totally believed it. We walk in and all the lights are off except the one in the living area. I get to the end of the bar and the lights come on and everyone shouts "Surprise". I almost had a heart attack. I was so surprised and they really got me good because I totally believed every word. It doesn't take much to pull something over on me! haha! There were all kinds of "over the hill" decorations with pink and black balloons and streamers. Even in the bathroom! hehe! There was fruit, chips and dips, wine coolers (that my hubby picked up on the way over). He was totally in on it with those two and his brother Stephen watched the kids at our house so he could be there. It was so great. Jenna made a poll on DFW Area Moms a while back to see what everyone's favorite cake was. She was even considering having me make my own cake! hahaha! Karen's sister in-law ended up making it and it was wonderful. *Amaretto Cake". I didn't think you could get drunk off of a cake but, I did get tipsy. Whoo! That cake was wonderful, and so moist! I got some really neat presents. Karen got a Wii for their Christmas and we broke it out and played and listened to music. Karen and Courtney were really getting into the boxing one. hehe! Karen and Jenna took pictures so maybe I will post those later. I love these people so much!!

Pizza Toss Playdate

Today the boys and I went to a pizza toss at Cafe Roma's in Sachse. They got to play with the dough but, they didn't make the pizza that we ate for lunch. There were too many kids and it would have taken forever and we wouldn't have been able to tell who's was who's so they just played with it and squished it around. The boys wanted to sprinkle whatever was on the table onto the pizza dough. They thought that was pretty cool. It was fun. The food was SO good. I'm going to have to go back with the family. The garlic rolls they give you are pretty huge. They sell pizza by the slice for $1.50 and the slices were a good size also. The waiter came over and tossed the pizza in the air. My camera is so slow I didn't get it when it was in the air. Darn! OH! and I also didn't get a picture of all the HOT firemen that came in. They were so HOT they almost had to hose me down. "drool".

Movie

Nicholas begged me all day yesterday to watch Transformers so after school today we watched it and it was really good! Nicholas loved it, Madison said it was for big people because it was PG 13. I didn't tell her that. She must have read it. hehe! Hayley was in her room talking to her Bratz, and Jake fell asleep on the couch. He was tired from MDO. He doesn't take naps at school anymore so he gets really tired by the time he gets home and just konks out. I also bought Ratatouille, Spiderman 3 and Licence To Wed. I haven't seen Licence To Wed or Spiderman 3 yet. I think they will be really good. I love Robin Williams. I still want to get I Now Pronounce You Chuck And Larry which was hilarious and Deck The Halls. Anyone know if Deck The Halls is on sale at Walmart this week? i went to Target and it was $19.99.

Nicholas' 5th Birthday Party

We had Nicholas' 5th birthday party on November 4th and that happens to be my birthday too! I think that's pretty special. We sat around and visited with family and friends, opened presents, sang Happy Birthday, ate cake and ice cream and visited some more and the kids ran wild outside and played football, played tag, etc...It was so much fun!

Little Turkeys

This morning was my meeting for the Garland Area Early Childhood PTA. I am in charge of "Nursery Facilities". Arts, crafts, and snacks for the children at the "General Meetings" once a month. Today the kids made turkeys. I think they came out really cute! I was being lazy again and just bought paper plates with the turkeys already on them and got some feathers and googly eyes to glue on. Cheap and easy! That's my motto! hahaha!

Trick Or Treat!

Here are the pictures from Halloween night. A few of the guests, trick or treaters, Hayley trying to fit in with the teenagers and lots of candy! I think the candy fairy may have to come and visit us. She is really good friends with the tooth fairy. hehe! You leave your candy on the front porch and the candy fairy takes the candy and replaces it with a toy! The candy can be donated. To where, I don't know. Ready or not, here they come!

Happy Halloween!

I hope you all have a great time trick or treating tonight. When dh gets home we are going to go to a friends house and visit for a while and head out for the loot! I can't wait! I think I'm more excited than the kids. I will post pictures of kids all dressed up and with all of their candy tomorrow.

Family Halloween Playdate

Saturday night we went to our friend Laura's house for a family Halloween playdate. It was so much fun! The decorations were spectaculuar, the food was wonderfully abundant and extremely tasty, and the kids had a blast playing with all the other kids. I may have been sitting there like a lump because I was so tired from another playdate that same day but, I really had a great time. I just kept yawning. Everyone probably thought I was bored but, I was just so worn out! Here are some pictures....
