Our Funtastical Weekend

The boys and I had a luncheon playdate on Friday with the Eastside mom's group and there were all kinds of goodies to eat. Jake would eat the apples and leave the peel. hehe! The boys had lots of fun playing with their friends and I met a new mommy and she is really nice. I just love going to playdates. Sometimes I don't know what to say but, I'm a good listener and I jump in when the time is right.

Later that night we went over to my friend Laura's house and we celebrated St. Patrick's day with green beer, which I didn't have any because I can't stand the taste of beer. I have to be really drunk off of something else and feeling pretty numb before I'd drink beer. haha! There was also pizza and cookies and cake and lots of beautiful singing from the children on the microphone. It was just lovely. LOL...No, they were good. Really! Laura...You went all out girl! We had a blast!

Today is the Easter egg hunt/picnic for my Dallas Area Mom's group and I am so sad I'm going to miss it! Hayley has a soccer game and dh's sister invited us to eat at the Rain Forest Cafe and I just know the kids would be too tired to go if we went to the picnic. I already got the stuff for my pasta salad and the eggs for the hunt. Wah! I can't wait to see all of the great pictures though.

This coming Friday, the 21st, my sister-in-law Suzanne is scheduled for a c-section with her 7th baby. The baby is breech and they had to do an emergency c-section with her last one. Please keep her in your thoughts and prayers. I can't wait to see this precious little one.

Tea Party Playdate

We had so much fun yesterday! We went to a "tea party playdate" at my friend Laura's house and there were all kinds of goodies. For the kids there were sandwiches that they got to make themselves and use a cookie cutter of their choice to make the different shapes. Jake had to have the dinosaur one. hehe! Instead of tea they had juice boxes and lemonade and the kids and mommies had a blast. The kids played and the mommies had a nice time chatting. I love playdates! It's way better than sitting at home doing nothing or God forbid...HOUSEWORK! LOL!

Chicken Tacos and Toffee Brownies

Tonight I made chicken tacos and toffee brownies for dinner and dessert. I've never made chicken tacos before. I got a rotissarie chicken and picked it off the bones and put some taco seasoning in and some water and stirred until it reduced. I think it would have been better with grilled chicken. The rotissarie was a little too tender. For the toffee brownies I used a Paula Deen recipe. Well...I cut them before they cooled completely. I'm a very impatient girl. hehe! So, they cracked on me and aren't very pretty but, they sure are delicious! Just look up Toffee Brownies on Food Network for the recipe. mmm!

THIS IS WHAT THEY ARE SUPPOSE TO LOOK LIKE:

Nothing Exciting Going On

This weekend was kind of a bust. I invited a friend out to see a movie Friday for Saturday night and it fell through. We are going to try and go this Saturday and see "Fools Gold". Sunday I was suppose to go and see a movie with my grandmother but, my brother and sister-in-law had to work (Starbucks) so my grandmother had to take my neice and nephew to church and choir practice. So, I ended up just chillin' and watching a lot of Lifetime movies and watched Wedding Crashers every night it was on and the hubby and I watched Babel with Brad Pitt Saturday night. It wasn't all that great and Sunday my friend Karen came over and we let the kids play and we watched No Reservations with Catherine Zeta Jones. It was really good, cute and sad with a happy ending, and Oprah's big give and the one about the Newlyweds. I liked them both and I cried on the Big Give when the one with the husband who got killed at Home Depot recieved her money and stuff. I was just a boo hooin'. Today I'm just hangin' out with my "baby" Jake and we may head to McDonald's here in a few minutes to get a happy meal. Other than that, it's pretty boring around here. I "might" try and do some laundry but, I make no promises. LOL!

Arts & Crafts

The boys came home from MDO with some pretty cool arts & crafts today. Nicholas made a dinosaur egg, pteradactle (sp?), and dinosaur bone. The teachers had to remind everyone as they walked out not to eat the bone. LOL! Jake made a pillow case with all his friends handprints on it and a picture of the whole class making silly faces. Jake is the fourth silly willy on the bottom row.

IHOP

I met a few friends at the new IHOP in Garland today. It was nice to sit and talk with friends and have a yummy breakfast. I got to meet a new mommy today. Her name is Hani. She is really sweet. I really needed this little outing. It has been about a month since I've seen anyone with all the sickness going on around here. Nicholas was sad to go to school today. He wanted to stay home because he stayed home yesterday because he had fever (no fever today) but, he said he wanted to go to his first soccer practice tonight. I said if you don't go to school then you can't go to soccer practice plus there was no way I was going to miss my last day of freedom. I will have both boys home tomorrow. We'll have to find something fun to do!
