Memorial Day Weekend

We had a fun Memorial Day weekend. Sunday we went to my friend Karen's parents' house and went swimming in their above ground pool and had bbq sandwiches and chips and potato salad and lots of deserts. There was brownies, chocolate cake, cookies! The kids made water balloons and threw them at each other. My hubby really got it! They kept cracking them over his head and he just sat there with a smile and took it. haha! The boys did good in the pool. They had on arm floaties and a round float you step into and put around your waist. The girls can touch but Madison was on her tippy toes. We got there around 1:30 and left around 7:30. They were plum tuckered out and slept the whole way home. When we got home we just threw them on some pajamas and went straight to bed. Later...dh watched 1408 with John Cusack. Pretty suspenseful. I liked it. Dh fell asleep. Usually I'm the one that can't stay up!
Monday we invited dh's family over and we made steaks, baked potatoes, corn on the cob, salad, rolls, soft drinks and dessert. (coconut lemon cake) mmm! It was delish! We just sat around and chatted and played some Wii!! I just love his family. *Hugs*.

Cake/Cupcake Stand

Look what I made! It's a cake/cupcake stand. I guess you could put whatever you want on it. I got a plate and a candle holder and epoxy'd them together and painted the candle holder with fruit.

Wait! Let me wipe the tear from my eye. Okay...I'm good. My boy is going to Kindergarten in just a few months.

Keeping Busy

Sorry it's been a while since my last post. I've been trying to keep myself busy with this that and the other. I joined a new mom's group. It's a Rockwall Meet-up and they are a pretty active bunch. I met a new mommy and we went to the park yesterday after the girls got out of school so they could get to know each other before school gets out for the summer. We brought snacks and we all had a great time! I have been meeting Lindsay up at Lady of America to work-out and I've lost 4 pounds in a week. Not a bad start huh!? I stopped drinking coke and have been drinking more water and tea. Well...more tea than anything. I can't stand water. Blech! Yesterday I went over to Lindsay's house and she colored my hair a medium brown "truffle" color and put in some reddish blonde highlights. I wasn't sure about it at first but, I got lots of compliments at MDO when I went to pick up the boys. I now know I love it. It takes me a while to get use to something and I need reassurance. haha! Thanks again Lindsay! I would take a picture but, my new camera sucks! Or...Maybe it's the person taking the pictures that sucks. Yep, that would be me. Everything looks really grainy. I know what I'm putting on my Christmas list! hehe!

My Mother's Day Gift

My friend Lindsay (Linz) made this necklace and bracelet for me. I'm going to wrap them up and tell the kids "Look what you got me! How pretty! Thanks!" LOL! The hubby wants to take me and his mom out for dinner. Not sure what night yet. That will be fun.

I Bought A Camera Today

My camera died. It was a Cannon PowerShot and it was a good little camera until the kids got a hold of it and dropped it. Now it has lines and a pink color. Not a pretty picture. hehe! I went to Walmart today and got another camera. It's the Kodak EasyShare C13 with 6.2 megapixels. I hope this one lasts a while and takes good pictures.

Leaky Pipe

We had a leaky pipe in the boys' bedroom by Jake's bed. Every night when I put Jake in bed I kept feeling a wet spot and I asked him if he pee'd on the floor or poured water on the floor and each time he would say "no". I thought it was strange that the spot was in the exact same place every day so I told the hubby and come to find out it was the leaky pipe coming from the bathroom so, dh cut a big square out along the boys wall and he replaced the pipe and faucet yesterday. He took off work. It's been 5 years. I guess it's time for things to start falling apart!
